The Kell Junior Cheerleading program each year strives to have at least one competition team. Depending upon the
number of rising 6th, 7th and 8th grade students that tryout will determine if both a 7th and 8th grade team will be
warranted. If there are not enough to make two teams, then all candidates making a competition team will be on the 8th
grade team or 7th grade team if not enough for an 8th grade team. Minimum criteria to tryout for the Competition Team is a
standing back handspring. Students who make the Competition Team will only be required to cheer football.
Our Competition Team is coached by Robyn (Bird) at Stingray Cheer Co. The team begins practice in May after tryouts at
least once a week. During the competition season which is usually October, November and December, the team attends
twice a week. All practices are mandatory.
